Alchemy Growth Partners acts as an active equity partner in a few new ventures each year. We do not review or invest in business plans like traditional venture firms. We prefer to architect our own new ventures, often in partnership with others.

We invest in developing ahead-of-the-curve insights and structuring business opportunities for successful take-up by larger companies or private equity firms. We develop our ideas by looking at the intersection of the following three factors:

Look for opportunities arising from large and significant discontinuities in industry landscapes. Market turbulence creates growth opportunities in its wake. We scan our chosen sectors (especially financial services; infrastructure; information and communication technologies; healthcare and nutrition; and media and entertainment) for growth opportunities.

Assemble a distinctive set of capabilities to win. Opportunities are not attractive if we don’t bring something distinctive to the party. Alchemy Growth Partners seeks to joint venture with entrepreneurs and large businesses that bring something special to the growth opportunity we have identified.

Ensure a high passion for the new business. We will not engage in ventures about which we do not have a very strong sense of personal passion. We like to feel proud about what our equity ventures are all about.
